What is Omega 3 and how does it work? what is it useful for?

Thanks|||I think all omega 3 supplements come from natural sources. It hasn't been manufactured yet.

helps rheumatoid arthritis|||I heard that too much omega 6 is bad for your brain. It even makes you crazy or deppressed. It was on CNN, so I believe it. Heres a link to the Omega 3s I take http://vgarcia38.qhealthbeauty鈥?/a>

|||Well, in my experience I wouldn't believe everything the media says.. even if it was on a trusted news channel like CNN. Studies have shown that even this type of fatty oil is very beneficial and the positive feedback outweighs the negative tremendously. Neurovi.com. That is the way to go!

|||Omega 3 supplements are manufactured from oils extracted from cold water fish. Fatty fish like mackerel, lake trout, herring, sardines, albacore tuna and salmon are high in two kinds of omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Even though it is a well known fact that omega 3 fish reduces heart disease , improves your mind and mood , protects against some cancers and improves your immunologic system, more than 90% of the population in the western hemisphere has a fish oil deficiency.

Is it better to take fish or fish oil capsules? It should be better to take omega 3 by eating fish but unfortunately today our oceans are contaminated, specially with mercury. It may not be very important for you if you just eat fish once in a while but if you want to take fish almost every day in order to improve your omega 3 intake, it could mean too much mercury and it is safer to take the fish oil.
