How to get more power from an old omega?

Ive just aquired an S-reg Vauxhall Omega 2.5 td as a project and wanted to know the best/most cost-effective way to squeeze some extra power from her.|||change da spark plug... and .. make sure da axel.,, awheel allignment is rite.. ... chek da tunin.. put a high quality engine oil... and ask da mechanic to remove da engine lock.. dats by manufacturer..|||You are very fortunate - the Omega TD uses the 6 cylinder BMW turbo diesel engine, producing 128bhp as standard, but capable of a lot more. Unfortunately, as a mechanical injection unit, you can't just plug in a new ecu, you'll need to uprate pump, injectors %26amp; turbo.

On the other hand, any other BMW diesel unit will fit. The 3.0 out of the last 5 series produce 193bhp as standard, upgradeable by 'chipping' to 250bhp with no reliability issues.||| give the car a service change oil and filters try an additive get a don't get an illegal chip that fits on the side of the little box (it will probably give you about 10hp more) use a quality diesel make sure the injectors are clean|||Not so much I know of to get more power from a diesel realistically-

and not expensive -

ok you can up grade the exhaust

up grade the turbo- but I would not do that if you but in too much boost you will blow the engine and is very expensive!

Just making sure the air filter is nice and clean will give you a few extra hp

also putting in the best quality oil will help and making sure it looks clean on your dip stick- is also good for your turbo as yours will be running on a oil bearing
