Which pills are best for a vegetarian who needs her omega 3?

I'd also like to keep it somewhat on the cheap side, and tell me where I can buy it too please. If I took a pill though, would I need to also eat other omega 3's or would that be enough?

By the way, I'd rather take flaxseed oil just because fish oil sounds disgusting...lol, but both opinions are welcome.|||Just get milled flax seeds. They're really cheap and you can add them to anything. Make sure they are milled and not whole or you'll have to grind them to get all the nutritional benefits. You can find boxes of Hodgson Mill milled flaxseed in the baking aisle of wal mart and most any grocery store.

You can also get lots of things that are fortified with vegetarian sources of Omega 3, like Smart Balance Peanut Butter and the DHA (from algal oil) fortified varieties of Silk soy milk and Horizon Organic cow's milk.|||Fish oil isn't vegetarian anyway. I definitely recommend flax seeds, they don't taste like anything. Good in smoothies, on cereal, oatmeal, pancakes, and basically mixed in any food.

|||You don't say which country - if it's the UK any of the major supermarkets will sell Omega 3 fish oil capsules at similar prices. If you want flaxseed oil caps then you will need to to Holland and Barrett.

The difference between the two is that fish oil based Omega 3's are long chain Omega 3's which are much better for you than the short chain Omega 3's found in flax seed oil which are not shown to have the same health benefits as long chain Omega 3's.|||Why not use the actual flaxseed oil? It contains 50 % Omega3 which is far more than any other oil (olive oil contains less than 1 % Omega 3).

Once you get used to the taste, it's delicious. But it is important NOT to use it for cooking, just put it on the plate, the salad etc.

One tablesoon per day is sufficient.|||There are a number of foods that have Omega-3 added to them. I'm not a vegetarian, but I buy products with extra O-3 for our health.

SmartBalance Peanut Butter has extra O-3 and the eggs we buy have O-3 added. Just look for it on the labels when you're grocery shopping.|||you dont need pills chicka i went to the doctor and he said i was extremely healthy and i said i was vegan and he was blon away just keep a healythy balenced diet...look for things by silk they are better for your heart and it says enriched with omega 3|||Take flax seed oil pills, I guess. You could also just use flax seeds in your cooking, which would be a lot cheaper and more nutritious, since you'll be getting protein and fiber from the flax. Put them into bread or other baked goods.|||I'm pretty sure olive oil will have the omega 3 you need in it. If you cook with it plenty, or dip some herb bread in it (yum), you should get your omega 3. Some people even eat a spoonful of it... if that's your thing.|||You don;'t need pills, just use flax seed.
